Two Men Face Charges In Connection With Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Incident
Two individuals are now facing charges related to a luggage theft where a suspected irritant spray led to people being hurt at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.
The charges follow an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after exiting a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.
A young child was among those injured during the incident. Several persons required hospital care and were later discharged.
The incident – which authorities stated was not part of a series and not considered a terror-related act – caused train delays and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
