Nigel Farage Accuses Educators of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics

Nigel Farage has asserted that teachers would go on strike within weeks a success at the polls for his party, charging that they are “harming young minds” by instructing children that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.

During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, the politician expressed his viewpoint on British schools, claiming that the “Marxist left” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike very quickly after winning the next general election,” he remarked during a Q&A session.

“They are poisoning our kids. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, not uniting us. They are feeding this harmful mindset.”

Reacting to Farage’s claims, Daniel Kebede rejected the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his political career on coded rhetoric and now, similar to other figures, he is lining up teachers and their unions for a conflict,” the union leader said.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he’s suggesting … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, including education … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by about 10 points, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and seems not to have appointed an education spokesperson.

However, Farage’s remarks indicated the party would overhaul the system and the curriculum. He said: “We have got a massive job with schooling – absolutely herculean. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that younger generations are receptive to critical thinking, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “All I want education to do to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that there are two points of view and you make up your own mind as opposed to current practices where views are labeled good or bad. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

Reform has previously clashed with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

Farage has accused the union head with being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that young minds be corrupted through education, their thinking tainted about everything to do with this country” and maintained that the union is trying to indoctrinate youth opposed to his party.

Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.

Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 led to significant interruptions in schools and extensive missed instruction for children.

During the American gathering, Farage also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He stated such groups were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I am serious. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of youth to your online courses. I make that commitment tonight and I will follow through.”

The college, a small private Christian college, offers free courses. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to maintain the benefits of freedom. It offers these excellent programs for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
