Posting on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, stated he just recently felt ready to post publicly about his profound loss.
"Enough time has gone by that I can now express my sorrow into words," wrote Elwes, noting that his introductory moment with Reiner left him smitten. "Once we started sharing more moments together I understood this was someone I desired in my life."
The actor uploaded never-before-seen clips from the film, commenting that he doesn't recollect "one day without laughter".
"The film is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Things that Rob held dear. Which is among the many reasons he was the perfect person to helm it," Elwes expressed.
He went on to praise Michele Reiner, noting: "Asserting that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I remember you." He finished with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."
Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Fellow Artist
In a separate tribute, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.
"From the start, I loved being with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was very funny and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese said.
Scorsese highlighted Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the protagonist.
"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked beautifully with his co-stars, and he understood the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese added.

This week, a Los Angeles superior court judge agreed to block the publication of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, after an appeal from the local authorities.
A judicial mandate placed a security hold on the investigation to prohibit the public release of "all case details, evidence and photographs" pertaining to the ongoing investigation.
The relevant authority had previously confirmed their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a public database noting the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Ex-President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, providing provocative remarks that were broadly criticized by many public figures.
